APF Holdings Initiates the Delivery of Pasteurized Egg Mass to the Customers

12/15/2023

APF Holdings, a participant in the Latvian agro-industry and the third-largest egg producer in the Baltic region, which includes Aluksne Poultry Farm, has begun the delivery of pasteurized egg mass to the industrial culinary segment. The first deliveries to clients were made in October of this year, affirming the company's commitment to taking a leading role in sustainable and ethical culinary practices. This pasteurized egg mass, free from preservatives and additives, obtained from eggs laid in the barns of APF Holdings, reflects the company's dedication to ensuring quality, animal welfare, and meeting the requirements of the culinary industry.

The new liquid egg mass is offered to major buyers in convenient and sustainable 10-kilogram packages Bag-in-Box (BiB). Currently, the production of the new product takes place at a facility in collaboration with a partner. However, by the summer of 2024, once the development of the liquid egg mass production line is complete, production will shift to APF Holdings facilities.

Hermanis Dovgijs, a Board Member of APF Holdings, is optimistic about increasing future production capacity. He notes, "A significant process is currently underway – we are not only introducing our new product to initial clients but also gathering valuable feedback to commence liquid egg mass production right here in Aluksne next summer. Our liquid egg mass production line is set to process 7500 eggs per hour. Thus, with tangible actions, we will demonstrate our commitment to meeting the growing demand for sustainable egg products."

Jurijs Adamovičs, Chairman of the Board at APF Holdings, adds: "Simultaneously, APF Holdings actively explores long-term collaboration opportunities with major retail chains and culinary manufacturers. Our production principles align with ethical and responsible farming practices supported by major retail stores, whose goal is to cease the use of cage-laid eggs by 2025."

By introducing an egg processing line in Aluksne, APF Holdings will not only ensure a consistent supply of liquid egg products in Latvia but will also strengthen its position in the market. This action towards innovation, operational excellence, and commitment to quality and sustainability aligns with the company's broader vision of diversifying its product portfolio to meet evolving consumer needs.
