SIA Alūksnes Putnu Ferma, one of the largest egg producers in the Baltics and part of APF Holdings (hereinafter referred to as APF or the Group), has commenced the production of innovative egg-based products designed for business clients such as restaurants, hotels, food manufacturers, bakeries, and more. This follows a substantial investment of over €2.9 million in a state-of-the-art production complex, marking APF’s transition from a traditional agricultural enterprise to a value-added food product manufacturer.
The new facility specializes in producing liquid egg mass, liquid egg whites, and liquid egg yolks. These products will initially be available to business clients in 5-liter and 10-liter BiB (Bag-in-Box) packaging. The complex is equipped with advanced technology to manage the complete production cycle, transforming raw eggs into packaged products in diverse sizes and formats. Looking ahead, APF plans to expand its product portfolio with cutting-edge innovations tailored to market demand.
“The launch of egg product production is a strategic milestone for the APF Group. It unlocks significant growth opportunities in local and export markets by offering high-value-added products. Our vision is to develop APF into a diversified leader in the egg protein sector, delivering a wide range of offerings – from cage-free eggs to protein bars and niche products like sports nutrition. This production complex is integral to our growth strategy, and I am confident it will exceed the expectations of our investors who supported us during our IPO in late 2023,” stated Jurijs Adamovičs, Chairman of the Board of APF Holdings.
The production complex was completed in November last year, followed by thorough testing of the production lines. In January, the Food and Veterinary Service (PVD) conducted comprehensive inspections, granting approval to commence food production. Alongside the new facility, APF has constructed a modern warehouse complex with a capacity of 13,000 m³, enhancing operational efficiency. In alignment with its growth strategy, APF continues to scale its egg production capabilities. By mid-year, the Group plans to commission additional facilities spanning a total area of 4,700 m², boosting annual production by 73 million eggs and bringing total capacity to 180 million eggs per year. These cutting-edge facilities will enable APF to cater to the growing demand for cage-free eggs in both Baltic and international markets.
Furthermore, APF has recently introduced a new product line focused on egg-based sports and health nutrition, marketed under the Fiteg² brand. To support this initiative, APF has launched a dedicated online store, Fiteg2.com, tapping into an exciting and rapidly growing niche market in Latvia and beyond.
